BULATS is a quick and reliable test available in 4 languages for assessing language skills in real business situations. It can be used to classify the language knowledge of employees and applicants, from beginners’ to advanced (levels A2 to C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

The test examines language skills required at the workplace, such as listening and reading comprehension (grammar and vocabulary included), as well as the ability to express oneself orally and in writing.

The test for ‘Reading and Language Knowledge’ and ‘Listening’ can be taken in two forms:

• on a computer – online or CR Rom (approx. 75 minutes)

• on paper (110 minutes)

 

The test results can be made more precise with two optional modules:

• a writing test (45 minutes)

• a speaking test (approx. 12 minutes)

 

The tests can be taken at any time once the necessary material has been provided by Cambridge ESOL.
